The secret sauce to having the body of your dreams is this: Your level of commitment.
Sounds too simple, doesn’t it? Of course you want it, you want it bad. Not having it makes you unhappy in a million small ways. But there is a big difference between desire and commitment.
To succeed, you need to be so deeply committed that you’re willing to do whatever it takes to make it happen. Is that where you are at? Or do you say things like
• I simply can’t get up any earlier in the mornings
• I don’t have time for exercise
• I can give up everything else, but not ice cream
Before you can be truly committed you must acknowledge the following truth:
You are ALREADY getting what you are committed to getting.
Just sit with that statement for a moment and feel the truth of it. Breathe.
We ALWAYS get what we’re committed to getting. It is true. Horrible, but true.
- If you are overweight and not liking it, you are committed to being overweight and not liking it.
- If you are single and not liking it, you’re committed to being single and not liking it.
Most of us do not LIKE this idea. We do not want to believe it. We prefer to think that our intentions are one thing and what happens to us is another. But that very way of thinking is what blocks us from reaching our goal.
The way it is now is the way you want it to be (even if this is true only on a subconscious level). To think otherwise is to place yourself in the position of being a helpless victim in life, where things happen to you that you don’t like and don’t want but can’t change, where you do not have the power and ability to create the results you desire.
You are ALREADY getting what you are committed to getting.
You don’t have to like the idea. You just have to be willing to acknowledge the truth of it.
The moment you acknowledge this truth, you unleash a powerful force that will propel you to success in any new positive commitment you declare.
If you understand this principle, then you understand how responsibility and choice operates in life, and you will be able to use this understanding to create AMAZING results.
I encourage you to make the following declaration out loud:
I ________________________ (insert your name) acknowledge that I always get what I’m committed to getting.
Right now I am committed to ______________________________________________(current outcome).
I make a conscious new commitment to _____________________________________(desired outcome).
Please understand that it is not my intent to oversimplify the difficulties involved with weight loss or minimise the problems you may be facing. We are all unique individuals. There are many factors at play that can make it extremely hard or nearly impossible to lose weight, despite your firm commitment and hard work. These factors include food addiction, hormone imbalances, insulin resistance, stress, sleeping disorders – and many others.
I would like to encourage you that you are not helpless and your situation is not hopeless. When faced with these sorts of problems, a high level of commitment will assist you by driving you to relentlessly pursue a solution that is right for you. I would love to support you through that process.
